Friends at the Jodi Picoult reception

You’ve been to the readings, laughed at Roxane Gay’s stories or sat enthralled by rock stars of the literary world like Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Chinua Achebe, Amy Tan, Cheryl Strayed, and so many others. You’ve spent countless hours moving from reading to exhibition to author panel and you want more. So what should you do? We suggest becoming a Friend of Fall for the Book. There are different tiers of friendship—listed below—that fit with every level of interest, with donations ranging from $50 to $350 or more.

When asked why she took this next step, one festival-goer, Joy, said, “What an incredible treat to meet these creative artists, some of whom we had read and others we had not, at the VIP receptions for Friends of Fall for the Book. We look forward each September to new and wonderful literary adventures.”

Each year, we roll out the red carpet for our headliners and host a happy hour meet and greet where fans can speak one-on-one with their favorite authors before they head up on stage to accept their awards. Guests at the 2015 festival nibbled on hors d’oeuvres while talking about The Things they Carried with Tim O’Brien, and talked all things Jamie with Outlander author, Diana Gabaldon.

All levels of friendship include recognition in our program and on our website, advance notice of who will be at the festival and when, and an invitation to the Festival Preview Reception in the summer, where you’ll meet the Fall for the Book leadership team and get insights into all the festival activities before anyone else. Higher tiers even include front row seats at the readings.

For more information, please see our Become a Friend page. We thank you for your support.
