Laura Micciche, associate professor of English at the University of Cincinnati, directs the graduate program in rhetoric and composition and serves as editor of the journal Composition Studies. In her recent book, Acknowledging Writing Partners, she examines the genre of acknowledgments to reveal what she calls “writing partners”: agents that both enable and constrain writing production. The book especially highlights the role of feeling, time, and animal partners in sites of composing. She is the author of Doing Emotion: Rhetoric, Writing, Teaching (2007) and the co-edited A Way to Move: Rhetorics of Emotion and Composition Studies (2003), as well as numerous articles and book chapters in her field. She is recipient of the university-wide A.B. Dolly Cohen Award for Excellence in Teaching from UC.
