Learn about being a writer, and then become one with Mary Had a Little Lab author Sue Fliess as she leads a hands on fractured fairytale workshop where the kids create a fairy tale mash-up.
Spanish teacher, Tracey Kyle’s picture book explores the importance of seeking out our creative side. Kids will work on learning the colors by heart and doing a color-by-number activity in Spanish.
Christy Mihaly’s will read from her picture book Hey, Hey, Hay! A Tale of Bales and the Machines That Make Them, and then children will learn to use hay to stuff small scarecrow Halloween/autumn decorations.
Terrific Tongues, a colorful picture book by Maria Gianferrari, highlights the ways animals use their tongues. After the reading there will be a STEM frog mask craft using cardstock, crayons, party blowers, and scissors.
Deborah Lee Rose’s, Beauty and the Beak, is about Beauty, the eagle that made world news when she was illegally shot, rescued, and got a 3D-printed prosthetic beak. Children will participate in a Bald Eagle Beak Ripping Force STEM Activity.
