Edgar Award winning crime novelist Megan Abbott, author of Bury Me Deep, and Ellen Crosby, whose mystery novel The Riesling Retribution was recently named a finalist for the Library of Virginia’s 7th Annual People’s Choice Awards, will make a joint appearance on Wednesday, September 22, at Church Street Cellars in Vienna, Virginia. A free wine tasting at 6 p.m. precedes the reading at 7 p.m., and complete wine and dinner service will be available throughout the evening.

Megan Abbott is the author four novels: Queenpin, The Song Is You, Die a Little, and her latest, Bury Me Deep, which was nominated for the Edgar and Hammett Awards and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Her stories have appeared in Phoenix Noir, Best Crime and Mystery Stories of the Year, Wall Street Noir, Storyglossia, Detroit Noir and Queens Noir. She is also the author of a nonfiction book, The Street Was Mine: White Masculinity in Hardboiled Fiction and Film Noir, and the editor of A Hell of a Woman: An Anthology of Female Noir. Ellen Crosby is the author of a series of mysteries set in Virginia wine country, including The Merlot Murders, The Chardonnay Charade, The Bordeaux Betrayal, The Riesling Retribution, and The Viognier Vendetta, the latter to be released on the eve of this year’s Fall for the Book. She is also the author of the non-series novel Moscow Nights. Previously she worked as a freelance reporter for The Washington Post, as a Moscow correspondent for ABC News Radio, and as an economist at the U.S. Senate.
