Caroll R. Gibbs

Caroll R. Gibbs is the author/co-author of six books and a frequent national and international lecturer on a broad array of historical topics. Among his diverse venues have been the World Bank, Virginia Tech(at Blacksburg, VA),and the Ontario Legislative Assembly Building in Canada. He has appeared several times on the History Channel and researched, wrote and narrated Sketches In Color, a 13-part companion series to the PBS series The Civil War for the Howard University television station. The Smithsonian Institution’s Anacostia Museum and Center for African American History and Culture website lists Mr. Gibbs among its scholars at the museum's Online Academy. Mr. Gibbs is also a D.C. Humanities Council Scholar. In 1989,he founded the African History and Culture Lecture Series whose scholars continue to provide free educational presentations at various libraries,†churches, and other locations in the Washington and Baltimore areas.
