Harvey Frommer

Harvey Frommer is a sports historian and journalist whose books include Shoeless Joe and Ragtime Baseball and New York City Baseball: 1947-1957 as well as biographies of Nolan Ryan, Red Holzman, and Tony Dorsett. He has written widely on the New York Yankees, in works including The New York Yankee Encyclopedia; A Yankee Century; Red Sox vs. Yankees: The Great Rivalry (with Frederic J. Frommer); and Five O’Clock Lightning: The 1927 Yankees. His Remembering Yankees Stadium will be published in fall 2008 and features a foreword by Bob Sheppard, the Yankees’ legendary public address announcer. His Remembering Fenway Park is set for 2010 publication. Frommer is a professor emeritus of the City University of New York and now teaches in the MALS program at Dartmouth College.
