Carrie Brown
is the author of the novels Rose's Garden (1998), for which she received the Barnes and Noble Discover Award, Lamb in Love (1999), The Hatbox Baby (2000) and Confinement (2004), all published by Algonquin Books. A graduate of Brown University, she earned an MFA from the University of Virginia. She was awarded a Commonwealth of Virginia 's Commission for the Arts Fellowship for fiction and is currently an assistant professor of English and creative writing at Sweet Briar College.
