Daniel A. Domenech

Daniel A. Domenech is the Superintendent of Schools for Fairfax County, the nation's 12th largest school system. A native of Cuba who moved to the United States at the age of nine, Domenech earned a B.A. degree from Hunter College in New York City and a Ph.D. from Hofstra University in Uniondale, New York. He began his teaching career in New York City, where he taught sixth grade in South Jamaica, Queens, before moving into public schools administration. He also served for a time as an executive with Voyager Expanded Learning, an educational products company, before becoming superintendent in Fairfax.
