Jason Byrd, a third-year poet in George Mason University's MFA program, is a musician and songwriter who has performed in various groups and ensembles ranging from blues and jazz to rock, pop, and country. As a solo artist, he has opened for Don Dixon (musician and early R.E.M. producer) and Marti Jones, and for the rock group Little Feat.
