John Copenhaver
grew up in southwestern
Virginia and graduated from Davidson College with a B.A.
in English, and Bread Loaf
School of English with an M.A. in literature. He recently
graduated with an MFA in fiction at George Mason University
and concluded his editorship of Phoebe: A Journal of
Literature and Art. His awards include first runner-up
in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Short Story Contest and the
Shelley Marshall Prize
for Fiction. His stories have been published in two regional
journals, Roanoke Review and Timber Creek
Review. He is currently
interning at the National Endowment for the Art in the
literature division.
