Join Moose and his long-haul trucking friend, Rus as they go on an adventure from Maine to Florida in this exciting tale of discovery and exploration. Author Chuchu Wang will lead an interactive storytime with her picture book Rus and Moose before leading a guided drawing demonstration to let kids explore their own creativity. Continue the fun with take home coloring sheets. This event is perfect for kids ages 4-7.

Dawn and dusk are bursting with life- all you have to do is look! Author, librarian and teacher, Marcie Flinchum Atkins invites kids to explore these hours in When Twilight Comes: The Animals and Plants that Bring Dawn and Dusk to Life. Enjoy a readaloud where you’ll learn which animals and plants emerge while we’re just waking up or going to sleep. Afterwards, explore stations with pictures and information about crepuscular creatures and collect cards to build your own handbook about the worlds of dawn and dusk in your own backyard! This event is perfect for kids aged 4-8.

Hana prepares for her first Chuseok in a new home! In Korena Di Roma Howley’s picture book A Hanbok for Hana, Hana and her family are preparing for Chuseok, a Korean mid-autumn festival. When things start to go wrong, Hana must come up with a solution that blends tradition with the modern day. Learn about Chuseok, hanboks, and make your own Korean paper drum in this fun, interactive event perfect for ages 3-7.

Fall for the Book at Fall Festival
All of our children’s events will occur inside Paradise Games & Gifts), located at 10385 Main St, Fairfax. We are proud to be part of the City of Fairfax’s 50th Annual Fall Festival. We will also have a table in front of Old Town Hall — so please come see us in both places!
