
Events take place on the Children's Stage at the City of Fairfax's Fall Festival.
10:15 a.m.
Dive into A Weekend Trip with author and illustrator Cynthia Cliff to find Pepin the dog and all his friends in fun scenes from this island adventure – featuring dinos, whales and more! This oversized board book is full of fun, and kids will search together, do mazes, and more in this interactive outdoor event.

11 a.m.

Why do some plants have exploding seeds or smell like rotten meat? Ann McCallum Staats digs into plant survival science in Fantastic Flora: The World’s Biggest, Baddest, and Smelliest Plants. Learn about these crazy plants and play a fun, interactive game, as well as take home your own plant experiment.
12 p.m.
Learn to draw your very own manga with Japanese manga comic artist Misako Rocks! Misako’s most recent book is Sew Totally Nala, Bounce Back Volume 3. Elementary and middle school kids will enjoy this highly interactive and engaging workshop where they’ll create their own characters. In Sew Totally Nala, Nala goes to a fashion summer camp in the city. When she begins to question if she has what it takes as a designer of kawaii fashion, Timothy the squirrel arrives to help her in this inspiring story about self-esteem and confidence.
